Cowdenbeath closed the gap on second-placed Stenhousemuir to four points with this impressive home win.

They opened the scoring through Liam Buchanan in the 27th minute. Stenhousemuir's keeper Willy McCulloch can consider himself very unlucky as he had just pulled off a marvellous one-handed save from a Graham Guy free-kick before Buchanan squeezed home the rebound.

Cowdenbeath doubled their advantage four minutes later with a John Ward looping header from Mark Baxter's deep cross.

In-form frontman Ryan McCallum scored his third goal in three games after the Stenhousemuir defence again failed to deal with a Baxter cross. His free-kick was knocked on in the box, and McCallum was sharpest as he adjusted himself smartly to pounce with an overhead kick from close range.

The Blue Brazil's fourth goal came in the 74th minute as Andy Jackson picked up the ball midway through the Stenhousemuir half. The visiting side paid the penalty for standing off the on-loan youngster as he blasted a 30-yard drive into the net to make it 4-0.

Stenhousemuir, who were unbeaten prior to this demolition, scored a late consolation through Frankie Carroll in the 88th minute, but this won't have improved the supporters' or the manager's mood much as they travelled home.
