Stenhousemuir 0 Queens Park 0
The last game between these sides was a seven-goal thriller. Sadly, however, all the action between these teams must have been used up in that game.
This one was, in contrast, a no-score draw with both keepers rarely being called into action as the game became bogged down into a midfield scrap.
Stenhousemuir had much of the possession, but their slow patient type of game lacked penetration, whilst the Spiders showed more urgency when they had the ball but they were unable to supply the forwards enough to make it count.
In the first half, the home keeper Willie McCulloch showed he was up to the task with a fine save from Ally Graham, whilst at the other end Joe Savage came closest to breaking the deadlock with a shot that whistled just over the bar.
The second half continued in the same pattern as the first with few opportunities to score. In the last minute of the game the home side could have taken all three points, but weak shots by both Lee Collins and Paul Murphy, although on target, failed to test Queens keeper David Crawford.
Both teams went into this game with similar records, and this draw meant that the status quo was maintained for another week. On the basis of this game, there will not be much between the teams by the end of the season.
